Chris,
Only one teeny, tiny issue: I’m getting an error on the profile page http://virtualrentparty.com/network/members/admin/profile/public
Can you sort it out? Thanks again!

I’m glad you like the themes. =D Thanks for voting and thanks for offering to vote a second time. But no, just one vote per person. =D
The error seems to be in your install, not the theme itself. Try switching back to the default and see if you still get it. Hopefully the answer is yes.
That function is called in buddypress/bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-templatetags.php
My suggestion would be to re-upload that particular file and see if it works right. Let me know. =D

Well, drat. It works just fine with the default theme.
I’ll leave it up with the default for today, if you want to go see.

Christina,
OK, its back to Black & Purple. The hiccup is on the member profile page
http://virtualrentparty.com/network/members/admin/
Maybe I should delete the custom profile fields, and see if it still gives the error?

Chris, all of you themes are good. Clean with nice lines.

Thank you MyNursing. =D I’m glad you like them. It puts a spark under my seat to hear that people like them. I may have to make more. Lots lots more. =D

I think I opened a can of worms. :-0 I have now downloaded almost every available BuddyPress member theme I could find. About half of the member themes work just fine for the profile page on my site, the other half spit out that line 4 error…
So I have some silly conflict going on somewhere … and not a lot of energy left to spend trying to figure it out.
Sigh.
Nonetheless… you have a couple beautiful themes, and I’m looking forward to seeing more soon!

Well, I’m sort of relieved to hear that it’s not just me. But, that really does stink. It sounds like something has gone wrong with the buddypress install. My advice would be to deactivate it and delete it. Then, download all of the files from buddypress again and upload them. It’s possible that something glitched during your download or something glitched in the upload.
Also, are you sure you’re using the latest version of buddypress? I know that the new themes won’t work on any of the beta releases or the RC2 version. That might explain why some themes work and others won’t.

Chris,
You’ll be happy to learn that a complete delete/reinstall of BP fixed the issue!
June 5th, 2009 at 6:39 am
YAY!!! That DOES make me happy. =D So glad you got it to work.

Just between us (if you promise not to tell anyone)
The BP version I had on that site was 1.0-RC-2. Oops.

*giggles* Mums the word. But believe me when I say you’re not the only one that’s done that. They came out with 300 different versions in the span of 2 weeks. It’s not a hard mistake to make. I’m just glad you got it figured out and you’re up and running. =D

Chris, changing the subject for a minute: May I ask what is your preferred method to stop spam-bot signup? A captcha plugin? Thanks….
June 6th, 2009 at 11:49 am
I’ve really never had any issues with bots signing up. But my favorite captcha program is Peter’s Math Anti-Spam. It’s what I use at my personal blog @ Text Imps
It can be downloaded from Peter’s Useful Crap

Cheryl, here’s a good link for you to check out. There’s a 2nd link within the post that might also help.

That’s exactly what I was looking for. I had implemented D’Arcy’s technique about a week ago … then when I added BuddyPress the spamblog signups started reappearing… Thank you!!

Hey, Chris, I think you won something over at FreeBPThemes!! Congrats!!

Hi Chris, Like Cheryl, I too love the purple & Black theme. I am trying to set up a new site and have a silly question… How do I edit the “Your Logo”. Thanks, Rich
July 5th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
Thanks Rich =D
The “your logo” is an image. It’s in the image file (you’ll have to change the image on both templates)
It’s best to use a transparent image because of the gradient of the background. OR, you can just change the background (via the css file) to not use that image and just have a solid color background.
Also, if you change the image size, you’ll need to open the base css file and change the sizes used there. Just search for logo and you’ll find it.
Hope this helps. If not, let me know. =D

I knew it was going to be simple… Thanks for the quick response Cheis!! Rich

I want to use this theme but it keeps showing up black in the themes activation area. Can you help let me know what I need to fix? Thanks
October 28th, 2009 at 1:26 pm
Hi again I just activated it and it is blank when I go to the site. I have out the home and member themes in the correct folders. Is there anything I can do here?
