BuddyPress Theme - Black Red & Grey
BuddyPress Themes June 1st, 2009

As part of a competition being held at Free BuddyPress Themes, I’ve released my very first set of templates. They’re entitled Black, Red & Grey. How’s that for creativity? *laughs*
This set of themes was created for use with the first official release of BuddyPress. It comes with a home theme as well as a matching members theme. My favorite feature is the popup login box. Themes are compatible with BuddyPress 1.0
If you like these free BuddyPress themes, please remember to visit FreeBpThemes.com and vote for them. Voting ends June 15, 2009.

Hey Chris, is there any way to add http://www.MyNursing.org/forum page to the menu bar
June 3rd, 2009 at 1:10 pm
If by “menu bar” you mean the grey bar at the top with the Log In, then yes there is. As a matter of fact, I plan on releasing a plugin within the next 2 or 3 days that does just that. If that’s NOT what you mean, let me know and I’ll help you out. =D

Thanks Chris, I’m speaking of the Member Theme bar that says Blog Members Groups Blogs
I’d like it to say Home Forum Members Groups Blogs.
I went back to the WP.MU Nelo Custom home page (I really love Nelo)I’d also like to have that bar say the same
Home Forum Members Groups Blogs.
What ever help is appreciated

You’ll have to edit the header.php in the theme. On my own theme, down towards the bottom, you’ll see div=”nav” After that you’ll see a bunch of php codes. Your new code (between the uls) will look something like this…
<li class="selected"><a href="" title="">
Forums
<li class=”selected”><a href=”/” title=”">
<li class=”selected”><a href=”/” title=”">
<li class=”selected”><a href=”/” title=”">
The same should basically be true for the Nelo theme. Just remove the home blog code and insert a link to your forums.
Let me know how it goes. =D

LOL - That didn’t work. I’ll email the code to you. (Note to self, fix the comments so that it doesn’t eat your code, Chris)

Confession: I went to freebpthemes and also cast a vote for Black Red & Grey. I love it, too.
Several months ago I started a Mu project for the local art/music/preservation/activist community. (http://www.nelanews.net)
Didn’t get around to finishing it, then the Mu interface got updated, rendering all my tutorials obsolete.
But then BuddyPress and Chris’s beautiful BuddyPress themes came along and my project got resuscitated.
(Except I still need to update all those tutorial screen shots. Sigh.)
Thank you again. BR&G is stunning.

Chris,
I am new to the whole BuddyPress thing. I really like this red/grey/black theme and want it on our site. However, our site was created through SimpleScripts so I don’t know how to/where to change coding, etc. Also, I really want to change the label that says “social networking” at the top to “ourSB”… it looks like this theme will allow that? Please let me know! Sorry I’m so clueless. Thanks!

sorry… actually i figured out how to get the theme on there! I would still like to know how to change it from saying “your logo” to something else. Thanks!

Jackie, I’m glad to hear that you were able to figure out the themes. Sorry I couldn’t get back to you earlier.
As far as changing the logo, that’s simply an image within the theme’s image folder. Make a new picture and replace the old logo image and you’ll be good to go. =D

Anyone know of any themes that incorporate a photo gallery like coppermine?

This is a question better asked in the BuddyPress forums where there’s more traffic. You could check http://freebpthemes.com also.

I see you seem to familiar buddypress, I would like to ask if you are able to guide me to configure buddypress to fit into normal wordpress theme. Just add buddy to my normal wordpress site. is it possible?
